PROGRAM

Our summer programs are a great way for students to stay engaged with the dance studio and maintain their skills they worked so hard to acquire during the school year. Our summer courses have a lower commitment level than our regular season programs, which allow kids to enroll while also being busy with other fun summer activities. Summer programs are also a great way for new students to get a feel for the dance classroom and see if it's a great fit for them! We welcome students of all levels and ages to come see what our summer classes are all about! Here is a list of programs we will be offering this summer!

Dance Programs

Mommy & Me

Mommy & Me is new and we are so excited to be offering this program as a short term commitment this summer! This class is welcome to dancers age 2.5 - 5 and their moms. Mommy & Me will focus on upbeat, fundamentals of dance, creative movement, and rhythm. Mommy & Me is a fun way to bond together while practicing the basics of ballet along with high energy music. We will focus on basic movement, balance, coordination. This class is great for any new little dancers wanting to test out class first with their mom by their side to help sooth the transition into studio classes in the fall. Whether you're new to the studio or have taken some classes before, mommy and me is a fun class for you and your little one! This class must have 4+ dancers register to be held. Dancers must be potty trained to attend.
Tuesdays | July 11, 18, 25 | 5:30-6:00PM

Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical Combo

This 45 min. combo of Jazz, Hip Hop, and Lyrical is a fun way for your dancer to stay active through the summer, while learning some new elements from each of these styles. This combo would also be a good introduction to any new dancers looking to try out these styles of dance when the fall season begins. This combo will give dancers a chance to continue working towards their goals within these styles and will also provide a fun weekly class to learn new choreography. This quick pace combo class will be engaging for students to transition into different styles, enhancing their comprehension of overall movement quality. Dancers benefit from taking different styles of dance and this program will help you decide what your favorite styles are! This program must have 4+ kids register to be held.

Leaps & Turns

This is great class that will focus on drills and different techniques for students to strengthen their leaps/turns. Classes will focus on exercises to build technique, increase flexibility, and strengthen balance/agility. Many fundamental drills to advance leap and turn strength overall. Leaps and turns are so beneficial for dancers in just about every style of dance! This class is awesome for those wanting to advance within these aspects before fall classes begin. At least 3 dancers must register for class to be held.

Strength & Stretch

Strength & Stretch is designed for dancers and tumblers to develop more flexibility and strength to enhance their training. With fun stretchy bands, yoga balls and blocks, legs and feet equipment, etc, This is a great opportunity for dancers and tumblers who want to gain more technique knowledge and to help their overall performance within the classroom when dance resumes in the fall. Don't go all summer without stretching and or working on your endurance and strength! Dancer's strength is built up over time and like anything else, must be practiced consistently to help reach goals. This class will help students learn fun, engaging stretching methods to keep them from losing their mobility - they will learn fun exercises that can also be completed at home. This class must have 3+ kids registered to be held.

Tumbling Programs

Boys Tumbling + Hip Hop

Boys tumbling has been a huge hit the past two years! We absolutely love growing our boys dance/tumbling program that we have decided to trial a class program that potentially could be added to our fall 2023-2024 roster. Join us for 3 weeks (Mondays in June) of Boys Tumbling + Hip Hop! A 30 min class split for learning tumbling and hip hop techniques. Hip Hop is a great way to learn fun and upbeat dance moves along with cool tricks, stunts, and breakdance style moves. Hip Hop is a great style of dance for boys to train in as it teaches them endurance, musicality, athleticism, and rhythm. This is a great class wether you have been in tumbling before or not! We will focus on strength, speed, and muscle memory in the tumbling portion as well. We hope you join us in this 3 lesson trial as we hope to grow and gain a boys hip hop program soon! (This class must have at least 4 kids register to be held this summer).

Aerial Intensive

Aerial Intensive is designed for anyone looking to master their aerials. We will focus on drills and exercises to promote strength, flexibility, and muscle memory for the development of front and side aerials. Tumblers who register for aerial intensive must already have mastered regular cartwheel drills and a strong one-handed cartwheel is also recommended. Current Project C students interested in registering for Aerial Intensive must have been in a level 3 or higher tumbling class this past season. Please ask Miss Cassity if you are unsure if this class would be a good fit for you.

Walkover Intensive

This class will focus on drills to develop the strength needed for tumblers to master front and back walkovers. Tumblers will gain flexibility, muscle memory, and confidence while targeting techniques which will make front and back walkovers easier to master. This is a great tumbling program for current students who were in level 3+ tumbling classes. Tumblers must have a solid backbend from a standing position on the flat mat with strong arms consistently before registering for this course. If a tumbler does not show the skills needed to begin this program they will be asked to join another summer tumbling class that fits their needs better.

Handsprings Intensive - Level 1

This class is designed for students to focus on drills that will help master front and back handsprings. This class will focus on the beginning stage drills and techniques to improve upper and lower body strength, increase flexibility and endurance needed to master these more advanced skills. Current students are recommended to have mastered consistent strong front and back walkovers and or to have been in a level 3 + tumbling class. A solid back bend from standing position is REQUIRED - handstand into bridge is recommended. If you have not yet mastered front and back walkovers but would still like to try this class - please also pair with walkover intensive and or private lessons to ensure your tumbler is not jumping over basic skills needed to be met for advanced handsprings.

Handsprings & Tucks Intensive - Level 2

This class is designed for students to focus on drills that will help master more advanced handsprings and tucks. This class will focus on the drills and techniques to improve upper and lower body strength, increase flexibility and endurance needed to master these more advanced skills. Students who register are to be already knowledgeable on handspring strength, and ready for the next level of connecting handspring passes. Current students are recommended to have mastered front handsprings and standing back handsprings or to have been enrolled in a level 4+ tumbling class. Students will work on connecting round offs to back handsprings and work towards completing multiple handsprings in a row, along with drills to focus on front and back tucks using a variety of drills and the trampoline. Please ask miss Cassity if you are unsure what level class you will fit best in!

Summer Tumbling Program

This program is great for tumblers wanting to continue strengthening their knowledge and skills throughout the summer. Each class will focus on the needs met for those ages/skill levels. This is a great program for short commitment throughout the summer - new and current tumblers welcome! Tumblers will focus on improving flexibility, strength, and muscle memory. Skill focus will be determined upon level.

Level 1

Ages 3-5, working on the basics of proper tumbling technique including forward and backward rolls, straddle rolls, basic handstand and cartwheels, and fun drills to develop young tumbling knowledge. This class must have 4+ kids register.

Level 2-3

Ages 6+, working on more advanced cartwheel variations, round offs, handstand rolls, backbends, and enhancing more technique through more challenging drills. These tumblers will also begin working on mastering front and back walkovers and limbers. This class must have 3 + kids register.

Level 4-5

Ages 8+ - tumblers must have mastered front and back walkovers and are striving toward more advanced skills such as front and back handsprings, handspring connections, side and front aerials, tucks, etc. This class must have 3+ kids register.

State Fair Tumbling

Our State Fair Tumbling Program is a great opportunity for tumblers of all ages, experience, & skill levels! Tumblers will train for 6 weeks to learn a tumbling pass to compete at the Iowa State Fair on August 19th. These classes will focus on increasing strength & flexibility, enhancing new tumbling skills, & polishing technique. At the State Fair Competition, every student will earn a ribbon and a spot on the podium. Our team finished 5th place overall in 2021 & 2nd place overall in 2022! We are so proud of each dedicated tumbler who has made this summer program a hit! This program is so beneficial and truly is a great experience to learn, grow, and have fun!

Intensive Programs

Competition Team Auditions

Interested in joining our competition team? Join us, Sunday June 4th at 2pm for Team Placement Auditions!
New and Current Students Welcome. Dancers age 6+ entering 1st grade and (2023-2024 school year) up are welcome to audition. Dancers will audition to be placed within certain levels based on a number of factors. Auditions will include technique and skill evaluations, across the floor progressions, a center floor warm up/stretch, improvisation evaluation, group evaluation, and will learn jazz/hip hop combos to audition with. Dancers will audition in front of judges who will be scoring them based upon their stage/performance quality, technique/quality and maturity of movement, readiness, and other competitive factors. We take pride in our technical training at Project C and this year will be transitioning to a complete competitive program. Those who become eligible and make our competition team will receive an entire handbook contract full of information and policies. More info will be posted within our competitive page online soon. We hope you join us! $10 audition fee per dancer.

Private Lesson Package

Private lessons are so beneficial for dance/tumbling. The one on one, student teacher time helps to build confidence, strengthen flexibility and technique, and gain an in depth understanding of dance and tumbling knowledge needed in developing new skills. Private lessons will help your dancer achieve those goals they want extra help with during summer break. Lessons are offered this summer for tumbling, or dance technique. With this private lesson package, you are purchasing 5 hours of private lesson time, and gaining a 6th hour of training for FREE! Lessons are often broken up into 30 min. sessions depending on skill level/age/experience. Private lessons can be scheduled based on what works best for your busy summer! Register for a private lesson package and contact Miss Cassity to begin scheduling!!
